Oil giant Texaco, now owned by Chevron, is involved in an epic environmental lawsuit brought on behalf of the indigenous people of Ecuador’s rain forest.
Texaco is accused of failing to clean up billions of gallons of toxic waste produced during its involvement in oil production in Ecuador. Although the company ended its operations there in the early 1990s, its new owner Chevron inherited the lawsuit.
Attorney Stephen Donziger, who works with the plaintiffs legal team, and Chevron spokesperson Kent Robertson discuss the case.
