The Week of Truth for ChevronTexaco begins today in the Superior Court of Lago Agrio.

The lawyers for the plaintiffs suing ChevronTexaco will be available three times a day to inform the press of what will be presented each day and what occurred throughout the day; at 8am at the Grand Hotel of Lago, at noon in front of the courthouse, and at the end of the court proceedings in front of the courthouse.

Tours of contaminated areas and interviews with plaintiffs or witnesses can also be arranged.

Monday, October 27:
3pm, testimony of General René Vargas Pazos, Minister of Energy and Mines during Texaco’s operations.
Bianca Jagger arrives in Quito.

Tuesday, October 28:
Bianca Jagger returns to Lago Agrio and will be present at the courthouse.

Presentation of the remediation plan. This is the first time that the plan is presented to the judge and the public. The remediation expert will be available for interviews following his presentation.
Other testimonies in the afternoon. Names to be confirmed.

Wednesday, October 29:
Testimonies all day. Names to be confirmed.

Mobilization of affected people to Lago, including members of the following indigenous nationalities, Huaorani, Cofan, Secoya, y Siona.

Press conference at the conclusion of the trial. Time and place to be confirmed.
