Tune in on TV and ONLINE: Friday, February 9 at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT and continuing at 11 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. PT, repeating February 17, February 25 and March 1 at the same times

LINK TV presents THE END OF OIL, a special four-hour programming event exposing the hard facts and quickly approaching consequences of our dwindling world oil supply.

This must-see special provides a counter-narrative to the information delivered in the mainstream media, and features three bold new documentaries, each presenting a fresh, informed global perspective on the current oil crisis.

Programs include the first nationally televised sneak-preview of the award-winning feature documentary film Crude Impact, by environmental activist and filmmaker James Wood, about “Peak Oil,” and how deeply our current existence depends on fossil fuels.

Also included are LINK TV’s original program Outside the Box with Peter Coyote: Beyond Big Oil featuring a ride-along conversation with singer/songwriter Willie Nelson on his eco-friendly concert tour bus, and the controversial BBC documentary Global Warming: Bush’s Climate of Fear.

The special will be hosted and debated throughout by renowned environmental reporter Mark Hertsgaard, actor/writer Peter Coyote, author Antonia Juhasz (The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time) and James Wood, director of Crude Impact.

And, you can communicate with the filmmakers and other oil experts in a real-time online discussion hosted on www.linktv.org, on February 9 & 25 from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET / 6:00-8:00 p.m. PT, and February 17 & March 1 from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. ET / 9:00-11:00 p.m. PT.

Join the discussion about peak oil, climate change and what we can do about it! Tune in to LINK TV on DIRECTV channel 375, Dish Network channel 9410, and select cable stations. Compelling excerpts from THE END OF OIL will also be streamed on our website, www.linktv.org.

“The end of oil, or at least of cheap oil, is now predicted by a surprising number of industry insiders. For a nation that, as George Bush famously said, is addicted to oil, the consequences are almost unthinkable. But they must be faced and this Link TV special does that, while also touting solutions.” – Mark Hertsgaard, Link TV Political Correspondent and author of Earth Odyssey: Around the World In Search of Our Environmental Future
