Stop the Armed Invasion of Munduruku Territory in Brazil!

The Munduruku people from the Brazilian Amazon are calling all allies to support them as they face an imminent threat of invasion by armed illegal miners. Meanwhile, the U.S. government is negotiating a deal with the Brazilian government related to the Amazon.

Protection of Indigenous rights must be central to any discussions with the Brazilian government about the Amazon. Right now the Munduruku people are facing an imminent invasion by armed illegal miners who pose a deadly threat, both as purveyors of violence and vectors for COVID-19. We urge you to leverage U.S. diplomatic capital to encourage your Brazilian counterparts to enforce the law and evict these illegal miners.
