Call on the Biden-Harris Administration to Take Urgent Action for the Amazon!

Every day soybeans, meat, minerals, and other commodities from deforested lands in the Brazilian Amazon are shipped to the United States. Last year, deforestation there reached a 12-year high, driven by criminal arson and encouraged by government policy.

The Biden-Harris administration is attempting to broker a closed-door deal with the Bolsonaro government for the Amazon. If Biden wants to advance ambitious climate action policies that protect the Amazon rainforest, his administration must include Indigenous and forest peoples as key decision-makers.

Insist that Biden and Harris prioritize the rights and demands of Indigenous and forest people in their climate emergency plans to protect the Amazon rainforest!

Preserving the Amazon is essential to safeguard the future of our planet. We call on your administration to advance proactive policies to regulate U.S.-based investors that are financing Amazon destruction, prioritize Indigenous rights, and protect threatened environmental defenders.
