The Inter-Federation coordinating body announces to the national and international public the tragic loss of our friends and colleagues Joaquin Najamdey, President of FIPSE, Rodrigo Wampankit, Parliamentarian of FIPSE and Samuel Wampankit Head of Territorial Affairs of FIPSE. On Tuesday May 7 at 2.30 pm, when carrying out a legal investigation related to the lawsuit against the oil company Burlington charging them with incompliance with a constitutional ruling in favor of FIPSE, the airplane No 06 belonging to Aéreo- Regional crashed 5Km from the Mamayak – Makuma road. Faced with this dramatic situation, the federations FIPSE, FISCH and FINAE are not ruling out the possibility of sabotage by the oil company Burlington and the Ecuadorian state.

The Federations declare that these three friends and colleagues, heroes in the fight against the invasion of oil companies and in the defense of territory belonging to us, offered their lives for dignity, unity, justice and liberty for the Shuar and Achuar Peoples.

The Federations will not weaken their efforts to protect their territories and their leaders.

The Shuar and Achuar Peoples, hurt and indignant after the death of their leaders, issue an invitation to a wake over their mortal remains on Wednesday May 8 in the Los Canelos coliseum. On Thursday May 9 there will be a symbolic march through the streets to the Edmundo Carvajal airport in the city of Macas to say our last goodbye to our leaders and friends before they return to their own communities to their final resting place.

For the unity and strength of the Shuar and Achuar People
