June 1, 2000 | Campaign Update

The team organized a media and communications training workshop prior to the annual meeting of the Amazon Alliance in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The three-day workshop was attended by more than 30 indigenous leaders from Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Guyana and Suriname. It included the following topics: writing effective news releases, controlling your message, being an effective spokesperson, using email and the web, communicating with international allies, disseminating compelling images with digital video and still cameras, producing b-roll in the field for TV news.
